Bhagvad Gita exploration

You are invited to join Yoga Therapy Australia and Saraswathi Vasudevan for this four-session series, as we draw inspiration from the Bhagavad Gita. Saraswathi will lead us into an exploration of meditative and yogic practices from this ancient text — a journey worthwhile by itself but also one that could offer insights into the very purpose of our  life.

The Bhagavad Gita presents the essence of the ancient teachings of the Upanishads that take one towards self-realisation. Through the 700 verses of the Gita, the warrior Arjuna receives important lessons on Yoga from Sri Krishna. With war between dharma and adharma as the backdrop of these teachings, this perennial text helps us get in touch with the Arjuna within us, and the many conflicts we seek to understand and resolve.

For every conscious human being, the Gita offers something precious to reflect, practice and work with, not only to improve our lives, but to keep our quest alive and find the way forward. Even a few key thoughts from the Gita offer immense possibilities for personal transformation if nurtured through continuous Abhyasa (practice) and Vairagya (dispassion).

This meditative series will focus on select concepts from the Bhagavad Gita and bring them into daily practice to develop inner resources for greater clarity and strength.

When we grow as human beings, the world around us becomes a wondrous place to live in.
