YogaVahini warmly invites all its alumni and current students to YogaVahini Sangama from 16 – 19 January 2025.
It is an opportunity for all of us to reignite our Sraddha and commitment to the practice, study, and teaching of yoga, re-calibrate our way forward, and come together to share and inspire each other.
YogaVahini’s journey so far
We started formal training in 2008 in Hyderabad under the banner of Yoga Jyoti, later renamed to YogaVahini in 2010. In 2014, on Guru Purnima day, the YogaVahini centre was inaugurated in Chennai in Kalakshetra Colony, Besant Nagar. We are now back in the same building after 10 years!
While we have come a long way and many things have changed, especially after COVID, the core vision and intent of YogaVahini stay strong and clear. We have active YV communities in Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi-NCR, and Bangalore. Even on our co-founder Saraswathi Vasudevan’s visit to New York City last year, we had close to 10 YV alumni gathered from different parts of the US and Canada. We also have many teachers and therapists spread across the world serving diverse communities and continuing to study with us and other senior teachers from this tradition.
Since 2008, we have completed:
- 16 batches of Yoga Sadhana,
- 18 batches of Yoga Acharya/YITP, and
- 6 batches of Yoga Vaidya.
These batches have been conducted in Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi-NCR, and in cyberspace. Many dedicated teachers and mentors continue to work with us for over 16 years to support continuity of learning.
Let’s take a moment to look back at the path we have walked together and the possibilities that lie ahead. Through all the ups and downs, we have continued to upgrade and evolve our training programs and teaching repertoire while deepening our own inner search. While it has been a constant struggle to keep the inner aspiration alive and strong amidst all external pushes and pulls, the very struggle continues to reveal the true power and need for yoga. Every day, we strive to live up to our name and become better channels of health, clarity, and peace in the world!
And now, Sangama!
The Sangama festival will be held at the Heartfulness Foundation (Sri Ramachandra Mission) Ashram in Manapakkam, Chennai. Over 3 days, we plan to include interesting sessions for the alumni as well as sessions taught by alumni for the larger public.
We will invite senior teachers from this tradition to share their wisdom on this very special occasion. To spread the awareness of yoga and yoga therapy among the general public, we invite our alumni to compile interesting case study reports, write articles, even make short videos to be released on this occasion.
Please take this opportunity to come home to your alma mater, meet old friends, make new friends, nourish yourself and your Yoga Sanga, learn, share and just celebrate together! Make sure you block these dates and start making your travel plans.
January is also a great time to visit Chennai as the weather is pleasant and the city is abuzz with cultural activities. This will surely add colour and flavour to our celebrations.
To start the process, please take a few minutes to fill this form and register your interest for Sangama. We will come back to you with further information soon.
